Sheet Music for Brass Band

The Danish pharmacist Mads Nielsen wrote a number of poems, one of them "The Day"

Eack day is a gift supernal,
A shining new chance to live.
Each day brings a heavenly challenge
To all that I have to give

The tune is by Colonel Oscar Bandsberg who, around 1920, was the Financial Secretary of The Salvation Army in Denmark and at the same time bandmaster of the Danish Staff Band - his wife being leader of the Staff Songsters. The song is well known and much used in many churches in the Nordic counties.
