Sheet Music for Brass Band
No 189 Processional - Diademata
by Brian Bowen
This music has a ceremonial feel to it, hence the designation "Processional" rather than the more prosaic "March". The majestic tune Diademata is usually associated with that great hymn of the church "Crown Him With Many Crowns".
No 190 Festival arrangement - O For A Thousand Tongues
by William Gordon
Actually conceived as a song accompaniment, this festival arrangement features five different settings of the tune "Azmon" and it would be a good prelude to any occasion the ensemble finds itself worshiping in.
No 191 Selection - Spirit Of The Pioneers
by Erik Silfverberg
More than one hundred years ago, when The Salvation Army first spread across the world, a handful of songs - mainly from the Methodist Church - made a great impression on the listeners, wherever the Army "opened fire". Although these songs are now seldom heard, they are a treasure to all jChristians. In this selection, three of these treasured songs are presented. The words to the first vese and chorus of the final song read as follows:
"My God, I am Thine
What a comfort divine
What a blessing to know that my Jesus is mine!
Hallelujah, send the glory" Hallelujah, amen!
Hallelujah, send the glory! Revive us again!"
No 192 March - Courageous
by Kevin Norbury
This energetic march was written for the Spring Valley, NY corps band at the request of its bandmaster. It features the hymn tune "Cardiff", which is most often accompanied by Charles Wesley´s words: "And can it be that I should gain an interest in the Savior´s blood ..."
